Loeb close to goal

Sébastien Loeb (Citroën C4), leader since the start of this last day of the Rally from Catalonia, consolidated his lead at the top of the standings, ahead of Dani Sordo (Citroën C4) but especially Mikko Hirvonen (Ford Focus), who will not return again, unless one of the two Citroën Total team drivers makes a mistake.

The three stages of the morning were once again dominated by Citroën, with three different C4s managing to place themselves at the top of the list: Sordo in SS13, Solberg in SS14 and Loeb in SS15. Best time of the last section, the Frenchman was not completely calm. “ We had to take a different approach from the other stages because the road was bumpy, confirmed the Frenchman. But hey, we didn't have any problems, we had a clean special, without any mistakes. »

From now on, the Frenchman no longer has to worry, except to continue his momentum in the last three special stages of the Rally. Dani Sordo's second place protects him from any pressure, the Spanish driver having enough lead over Mikko Hirvonen to no longer attack.

Behind the Loeb-Sordo-Hirvonen trio, the positions are well established, each driver having a significant margin over the driver ahead and behind him. Petter Solberg should therefore be able to maintain his fourth place ahead Sébastien Ogier, the latter not being threatened by Jari-Matti Latvala.
