Loeb wins in Catalonia

Sébastien Loeb and Dani Sordo achieve a new double during the Rally of Catalonia. It couldn't have been otherwise as the two Citroën drivers showed themselves to be dominant from start to finish. The chevron brand also demonstrated the superiority of the C4s on Catalan asphalt, with seventeen special stages out of eighteen won by C4 drivers (Sordo, Loeb, Solberg, Ogier). Citroën was also rewarded in Catalonia with the world title in the manufacturers' championship, the double of Loeb and Sordo having definitively ensured this title.

During this last loop, when they had the hardest time, Sébastien Loeb and Dan Sordo unwound. The Spaniard lifted his foot to secure the victory of the five-time world champion, who was able to count more than ten seconds in advance. Petter Solberg, also at the wheel of a C4, was able to take advantage of this to set two fastest times.

During the last special, the drivers, it was Jari-Matti Latvala who set the best time, depriving Citroën of a full success, since the seventeen specials had been dominated until then by the C4s.

In the drivers' standings, Sébastien Loeb did well this weekend, coming within one point of Mikko Hirvonen. The two men are now masters of their destiny and the one who wins in Great Britain, the venue of the final round of the championship, will be declared world drivers' champion.
