Loeb, a weekend “without”

When Sébastien Loeb is not having a great weekend, he is scoring points. This is what is reassuring for the Frenchman at the end of this difficult rally Sardinian. The Citroën driver also recognizes that finishing fourth is not a bad result: “ It’s still quite positive, we finished this rally. It’s true that we were unlucky. It can't work every time. I think I'm generally pretty lucky. There, that was not the case. We had good speed. A lot of little problems happened to us, dust, punctures? I hope that we have accumulated the problems here and that we will be calm on the next rallies. »

Third at the end of the 17 Italian specials, the Frenchman was penalized two minutes for not having stopped completely before changing his wheel, following a puncture. Even if he considers that he has not taken a big risk, Loeb is not overly moved: “ We try to optimize the time to change the wheel. We slow down, Daniel pulls away, takes the jack and is ready to get out to change the wheel. Maybe it doesn't comply with the regulations, but we just tried to optimize. It doesn't work, too bad. I think I didn't take any risks. I am the first concerned, I don't want to take a tree without having the harnesses. »

And despite having experienced a weekend where he was never able to take control of the rally, Sébastien Loeb nevertheless finds positive points in this result: “ We lost three points on Hirvonen, it?s not a disaster. I was comfortable, the car worked well. Overall, it wasn't bad. There are weekends “with” but also weekends “without”. It happened to Ford in Argentina, is it happening to us today? » There is no doubt that the Citroën driver will however want to make up for it during the next rally, in Greece from June 12.
