Loeb: “A perfect day”

Sébastien Loeb made a grand slam on the first seven stages of the day on Saturday. Author of the best time on each section, the six-time World Champion dominated unchallenged. Third at the end of SS7 on Friday, the Frenchman was able to benefit from this position on the road on Saturday. Sparing the phenomenon of sweeping and displaying his mastery of drifting, the Alsatian managed, in two special stages, to take control of the general classification. Subsequently, he focused on building as wide a gap as possible on his pursuers, so as not to be threatened on Sunday during the final specials, during which he will open the road and pass the broom for his rivals.

« It's a perfect day for us, confides the World Rally Champion. I was on the limit everywhere to increase my lead but I made no mistake. We made all the scratches, we caught up and increased our lead to more than 50 seconds. » Now, after the two super specials on Saturday, it is the opening position which looms large on Sunday. However, there will only be three stages on the program. “ We will have to stay on the road and not make any mistakes, but with the lead I have, it should work out. »
