Pierre-Louis Loubet's hopes in Portugal in May turned into despair. After having been leader of the Portuguese round for a while, the Corsican saw his exhaust leave its housing at the end of SS3 before his race ended below during SS10 following 'an accident.

Despite the regrets he may have had in Portugal, Pierre-Louis Loubet arrives in a completely different state of mind in Sardinia for the 6e épreuve de l’année.

« After a rally of Portugal where we showed good things by being at the head of the rally having set a best time, I made an unfortunate mistake on Saturday morning. A small mistake but with serious consequences as we fought for the podium. So the objective this weekend will clearly be to keep all the positive things about Portugal, the pace we have, the performance we showed and to line up the special stages one after the other and succeed in making a solid result on an event that I appreciate, which is the closest to my native Corsica, ambition the Bastiais.

It's obviously a special moment in the season to ride in Sardinia, so close to home, and on terrain that I know well. Now the big question will be the weather: in the dry my starting position would obviously have been an advantage and we were ready to count on that, now we will have to see the conditions we will have during the race because during the recce it is apocalyptic and it's really atypical for Sardinia to do the recce in the rain, so it wouldn't be an advantage to start behind but we will try to make the most of what we can with Nicolas (Gilsoul, his co-pilot) and the Puma. » Hoping that they have a better outcome than in Portugal this time.
