M-Sport unveils its Ford Fiesta WRC

The Ford Fiesta WRC vintage 2017 was officially unveiled by M-Sport. If the lines of the British team's new model were seen during the numerous test sessions dedicated to its development, the definitive model has now been established by Malcolm Wilson's structure.

This car corresponds to the 2017 WRC regulations which are based on increasing performance. The front and rear splitters have been reworked in CFD (computer flow study), as have the new prominent rear wing and the widened flanks. The new Ford Fiesta WRC develops 360hp and 450Nm of torque via the 1,6l Ecoboost direct injection engine.

“The whole team is excited about the new chapter that the WRC has started and I think we have created something very special with this new Ford Fiesta WRC, declared Malcolm Wilson, director of M-Sport. Having driven the car myself, I can say that it is one of our most impressive cars. »

M-Sport carried out a series of tests to cover a total of 6392km so that the Ford Fiesta WRC could face the Hyundai i20, the Toyota Yaris, or even the Volkswagen Polo R if they are entered privately.

“Each team will start on equal footing and I am convinced that we have produced a new car capable of fighting and achieving victory at the highest level. We have only one objective: to return to the top step of the podium.”, insisted Malcolm Wilson.

M-Sport is still in discussions with Sébastien Ogier to try to sign a contract with the former Volkswagen driver currently without a steering wheel for 2017 and who was notably able to test the new Ford Fiesta WRC.
