M-Sport and its record of 250 consecutive points finishes

M-Sport took 4th and 8th place in the Rally Monte-Carlo with Esapekka Lappi and Teemu Suninen. If the British team did not reach the podium, its consistency in WRC is exceptional since she celebrated her 250th consecutive finish in the points.

The series began 18 years earlier when Carlos Sainz and Colin McRae took 3rd and 4th places with the Focus RS WRC during the 2002 Monte-Carlo Rally.

In total, 22 pilots and 28 co-pilots contributed to this feat. During this period, M-Sport won 7 world titles: 3 Manufacturers, 2 Drivers and 2 Co-Drivers with 50 victories and 185 podiums.

“It’s something I’m extremely proud of and I don’t think this record will be broken for a very long time, if it ever can be!, comments M-Sport Managing Director Malcolm Wilson. It’s a true testament to this incredible team, especially when you think that there was no Rally2 back when this series started. »

M-Sport will try to extend this series with Esapekka Lappi and Teemu Suninen at the Swedish Rally on the weekend of February 16, if the event is maintained since there is no snow in Karlstad.
