M-Sport ends long drought

La dernière fois qu’une Ford développée par M-Sport avait terminé sur la plus haute marche du podium d’un rally of the World Championship dates back to Wales Rally GB 2012, with the victory of Finnish Jari-Matti Latvala.

We had to wait for the news to come WRC 2017 to review the structure of Malcolm Wilson triumph, with Sébastien Ogier and the Ford Fiesta WRC. The boss of the British team highlighted, in addition to the victory of the reigning world champion, the overall performance of his three crews.

“Once again we won for the debut with a new car and I think that proves the high level of expertise we have in this business, explains Malcolm Wilson. Just look at the performance of the three drivers, Sébastien, Ott and Elfyn who all won a special stage. »

“We have a great base car in the Ford Fiesta WRC, Wilson continues. We know we still have a lot of work to do, but we definitely have something good to work on.

Once again, I can't praise the team enough. This result is due to their hard work and dedication. Every one of them, there and at home at Dovenby Hall, must be extremely proud of what we achieved this weekend. »
