Mads Ostberg absent from the Tour de Corse

Mads Ostberg has confirmed that he will not start the Tour de Corsica held from April 6 to 9. The private pilot had already missed the Rally from Mexico at the beginning of the month with the arrival of his son Mons born on Friday February 24.

The Norwegian will nevertheless miss the first asphalt event of the season for a technical reason more than a family one.

“It became clear in recent days that we could not have any guarantees regarding the asphalt suspension of our car for the Race and that we could not do any testing on this surface, explained Mads Ostberg. We have no reason to do this rally by only being able to ride with equipment that has not been tested without having a chance of obtaining a good result. »

Ostberg focuses on what's next

Mads Ostberg, however, was able to complete a two-day test session on snow in Norway last week to work on the differential and suspension settings of his Ford.

“The snow and ice are obviously not representative of the surfaces we will encounter over the rest of the season, but there were many things we were unable to test in Sweden due to the waiting time for receiving the car. After these tests, I feel that we have really progressed in understanding the car in terms of its adjustment possibilities. »

The private driver is now focusing on his next start with the Rally Argentina organized from April 27 to 30.

“We have planned a test session in Europe and possibly another day of testing on the roads of Argentina before the start of the event,” said the Norwegian who took 2nd place in this rally in 2015.
