Mads Østberg will not compete in the Monte-Carlo Rally

While uncertainty remains high over the course of the Rally Monte-Carlo 2021 (January 21-24), faced with the health situation linked to the coronavirus pandemic, the peloton in the WRC2 category will not be able to count on Mads Østberg, in this opening event of the WRC.

The Norwegian, reigning WRC2 champion and Monte-Carlo winner a year ago at the wheel of the Citroën C3 R5, which became Rally2 this season, confirmed his absence on his Facebook page.

“A year ago today, Torstein Eriksen and I were testing for the Monte-Carlo Rally. There will be no Monte Carlo for us this year, but we expect our program to be finalized soon. » soberly comments the Norwegian, who nevertheless hoped commit to a program similar to 2020.
