Malcolm Wilson sees Robert Kubica winning in 2014

In the lead at the start of the race during the last rally Monte-Carlo, Robert Kubica confirmed his good intentions at the start of the year after his superb victory during the opening round of the FIA ERC at the Jänner Rallye in Austria earlier this month. Also helped by his choice of tires, Kubica was finally forced to retire after an outing in Vitrolles-Faye. His good performances made Malcolm Wilson say that a victory is possible this season for the former driver F1.

“What Robert did is incredible. » explains the Englishman. “To come here to Monte-Carlo and lead like that is one of the most impressive things I have ever seen from someone who has just arrived in the team. It's not just the fact that he was in the lead, but it was the margin, especially in these conditions. This was one of the most difficult Monte-Carlos. All the guys were on the same tires, but he was 30″ ahead. »

“Then, yes, he made a mistake, but he was unlucky. I really think he has the potential to win. »

Le WRC will travel to Sweden between February 5 and 8. We'll see if Robert Kubica, who will discover this very special rally, will be as comfortable.
