Matton: “Craig Breen confirmed what I thought of him”

Tears of Craig Breen after the Power Stage Rally of Finland last weekend, proved that the result achieved by the Citroën Racing driver was of real importance in the career of the former driver of Peugeot Sport.

While the Irishman does not yet have his future secure for 2017, the podium obtained in one of the most specific and difficult events of the season, could well help him in the perspective of a program in WRC next season, when Citroën Racing will officially return to the World Cup with the C3, which continues its development.

“In Finland, it was the sixth time he started. I thought he could do something even after he crashed in testing, commented Yves Matton, head of the Citroën competition department.

Despite this mistake, he immediately found the right rhythm and knew how to maintain it... What's more, this comes at a very important moment in his career. It wasn't easy for him. He confirmed what I thought of him after Poland. Breen can have his place in WRC in 2017 » Les places sont encore ouvertes notamment chez Citroën, Toyota or even M-Sport, qui n’ont pas encore officialisé leurs équipages pour la prochaine campagne mondiale.
