Matton: Loeb would need more testing if he were to ride in 2018

Citroën Racing has already denied rumors evoking a possible commitment from Sébastien Loeb on a sleeve of WRC this year after announcing that the nine-time world champion would carry out a test session at the wheel of the C3 WRC in asphalt configuration before Rally from Germany.

Yves Matton, director of Citroën Racing, spoke about the return of Sébastien Loeb on World Rally Radio.

“The test session planned with Loeb will only be done over one day, on asphalt, confirmed Yves Matton. If his feedback is good, we could possibly consider a test session on gravel, but it is out of the question to enter him in an event this year. We can always talk about 2018 but he would need to do a lot more testing because it is not in one or two days of testing that we can get his bearings and he should be riding at the best level. »
