Meeke: “It’s hard to be completely confident”

Citroën Racing lacked success in Rally Monte Carlo. After having already had to restart in Rally 2, Kris Meeke had to dismount at the end of the event following a traffic accident on a link.

This blank result has attacked the morale of the Northern Irishman who will make only his 4th start at the Swedish Rally where he only has 7th place as his best result in 2015.

“After a disappointing Monte-Carlo, for me and for the team, it is difficult to be completely confident on the eve of the Swedish Rally, recognized the Citroën driver. We have learned the lessons from this first round and we will be stronger during the next rounds of this long season. I am happy to return to one of my favorite rallies. »

Kris Meeke is banking on snowy conditions to try to make the difference against his opponents by taking advantage of a better position on the road.

“In theory, I go to the start with victory as my objective, but we know that the level of performance of everyone will depend a lot on the weather conditions. If it snowed before the rally, my starting position for the first stage would be ideal. On the other hand, a warm wave melting the ice would reduce my chances. We will do our best”, he promised.
