Mexico: Latvala resists well against Ogier

If the sweep of the first pass of the special stages of the second stage of the Rally from Mexico penalized less Sébastien Ogier (Volkswagen), his teammate Jari-Matti Latvala better placed in the starting order allowed the Finn to increase his lead over the three-time world champion. The Nordic driver has a 32-second lead over the Frenchman at the end of the day.

L’écart est creusé sur le reste des poursuivants puisque Dani Sordo (Hyundai) complète le podium provisoire à plus d’une minute de la tête de la course. L’Espagnol dispose désormais d’une demi-minute d’avance sur Andreas Mikkelsen (Volkswagen) qui a perdu près d’une minute sur la tête de la course suite à une sortie de route.

Hayden Paddon (Hyundai) completes the top five with 14 seconds ahead of Mads Ostberg (Ford). Ott Tänak (Ford) still occupies seventh place ahead of Martin Prokop (Ford). Éric Camilli (Ford) is close to the top ten but the Frenchman lost several minutes following gearbox problems.

The third stage of the Rally Mexico will start at 15:53 p.m. French time.
