Mikkelsen confirmed for several seasons

Andreas Mikkelsen évoluera au sein de Hyundai Motorsport in WRC for the next two seasons. The Norwegian who recently joined the Korean team will play next year with Thierry Neuville, Dani Sordo and Hayden Paddon continuing to be co-driven by Anders Jaeger.

“I am delighted that Hyundai Motorsport has offered me the chance to return full-time in 2018 and 2019, comments Andreas Mikkelsen. I felt good within the team even before my first rally with them. It is certain for me that I am joining a team which offers me a real chance of fighting for the Drivers’ and Manufacturers’ titles. I plan to achieve these objectives next year starting with the Monte-Carlo Rally. »

Andreas Mikkelsen competed in several events this season with Citroën Racing, notably securing a podium at the German Rally.

“Andreas is one of the rally drivers who quickly manages to get into the swing of things., adds Team Principal Michel Nandan. He has already proven his professionalism and determination during his first visits to Alzenau. We are happy to have him on board full-time for two full seasons. He has already proven his qualities behind the wheel of the Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC in testing and has given positive and useful feedback. »

Andreas Mikkelsen will be entered in the last three rallies of the season with Hyundai. The Norwegian will defend the colors of the Asian brand during the next event at the Rally of Spain held on the weekend of October 8.

Hyundai Motorsport also confirmed yesterday the commitment of Jari Huttunen to its development program.
