Mikkelsen leads ahead of Ogier in Mexico

Andreas Mikkelsen (Hyundai) is in the lead at Rally from Mexico. The Norwegian scored two scratches in the three courses contested in the first passage of the first stage to be 1''6 ahead of Sébastien Ogier (Citroen). Despite his position on the road, the Frenchman put himself ahead to beat Dani Sordo (Hyundai) by just a second.

Les Britanniques Elfyn Evans (M-Sport) et Kris Meeke (Toyota) complètent le Top 5, le Nord-Irlandais évoluant encore à moins de 12 secondes de la tête du classement général.

Jari-Matti Latvala (Toyota) is a little further behind in 6th place where he is almost 19 seconds behind the leader, preceding his compatriot Esapekka Lappi (Citroën).

Ott Tänak (Toyota) and Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) were the most in difficulty with their opening positions. The championship leader is 8th, 6 seconds behind the second Citroën, while the vice-champion is 50 seconds behind following a puncture in the first SS of the day.

Teemu Suninen (M-Sport) retired from the first special after going off the road.
