Mikkelsen and Ogier in hunter position

Long leader of the general classification of Rally of Sweden this Saturday, despite an error in the first pass in Vargasen, Andreas Mikkelsen was forced to bow at the very end of the stage to the Hyundai i20 Thierry Neuville, author of a masterful scratch in SS18. The Norwegian does not intend to change his approach to the race tomorrow.

“It was a very exciting day for us. The situation was rather unusual for us to know how to defend a lead. I made two mistakes that cost us time in the morning. Especially after having planted the front of our Polo in a wall of snow. I had to turn around, which was complicated and took 20 seconds. We have made the most of our starting position and there is not much between us and first place which remains our main objective. For us tomorrow, it will be like the rest of the rally: full attack and no tactics. »

Sébastien Ogier,
who is 9″6 behind Neuville, admits to having given his all today, despite an unfavorable position on the road, particularly in the afternoon. “I'm really happy with my performance today. We were at the limit on each stage. I'm looking forward to tomorrow as it promises to be one of the most exciting final stages in recent times. Well done to Thierry Neuville, who was just as impressive as Andreas Mikkelsen. However, they need to be careful, I'm here to win! » indicates the double world champion.

The three-way match will begin tomorrow at 8:57 a.m. and can be followed live on AUTOhebdo.fr. Videos of the event can be viewed here.
