Mini on track to be on the podium

For his third rally since his return to WRC, Mini is on the verge of securing a podium with third place currently occupied by Dani Sordo. With three stages to go, the Spaniard has a 26-second lead over Mikko Hirvonen (Ford) and is correctly protecting his lead with only 66 kilometers remaining.

Dani Sordo confirms that he feels comfortable behind the wheel of his Mini JCW WRC. “I am satisfied with my car, I have good feelings behind the wheel. I can attack more, even if I don't have the part-times in the car. I don't take risks in order to preserve my tires. The suspension has never been faulty and the engine is getting better and better. I am happy not only with my position but also with the small gap that separates us from the Citroën drivers. »

The Mini driver can only hope for an uneventful end to the race, while the weather is still uncertain for this afternoon. “We made adjustments to the set-up, the Mini helped me achieve good times. We are aiming for the podium but we have no margin for error. We could have a puncture, a spin or bad weather. I don't want to think about the podium yet, I'm just trying to drive well. The most important thing is to stay close to the competition and we can still hope to get closer in the future. »
