Monte-Carlo: Loeb faces Toyota for the podium

Sébastien's day Loeb comes down to a duel against Jari-Matti Latvala during this third stage at Rally Monte Carlo. The nine-time champion WRC and the Finn both benefited from the retirement of Andreas Mikkelsen (Hyundai) made a mistake in SS9 to find himself in the fight for the podium.

“We had a great fight today with Jari-Matti. Once he was in front of me and the next time it was my turn. Things kept changing over the course of these four specials”, comments the seven-time winner of the event.

“I wasn't very comfortable with the car settings this morning so we made some changes at the break and I felt more confident afterwards, adds the Hyundai driver. The Toyota were very effective today and the fight for third place promises to be close. I will do everything to be on the podium, but we will see if it will be enough. I hope we will have less ice and more dry roads to be able to use slick tires in the last stages. »

Sébastien Loeb is only 2 seconds ahead of Jari-Matti Latvala, whileOtt Tänak 17 seconds behind the Frenchman after securing the scratch in all the stages of the stage.
