Neuville consolidates its lead in Catalonia

Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) seems well on his way to winning the Rally of Catalonia. The Belgian almost doubled his lead in the second pass of the second stage by having more than 21 seconds ahead of his teammate Dani Sordo when returning to service.

The hat-trick, however, seems more complicated for Hyundai since Ott Tänak (Toyota) won all the stages of the afternoon, except the super special. The title contender took over Sébastien Loeb (Hyundai) at the end of the day for 6 tenths in advance, the nine-time champion WRC having been in more difficulty on his i20 WRC.

Jari-Matti Latvala (Toyota) still occupies 5th position with a good lead over the Fords of Elfyn Evans and Teemu Suninen. Sébastien Ogier (Citroën) remains 8th

Mads Ostberg (Citroën) still occupies the lead in WRC 2 Pro, now ahead of Jan Kopecky (Skoda) who has overtaken his teammate Kalle Rovanperä. The reigning category champion broke a wheel on the last course of the day. Éric Camilli (Citroën) remains at the head of WRC 2 after catching up with his compatriot Pierre-Louis Loubet (Skoda), whom he is one minute ahead of.

The final stage will be made up of 2 special stages covered twice. The day should start at 7:41 a.m., an early hour offset by the transition to winter time. The event can be followed live with our live text.
