Neuville will have to bring out the big attack at Wales Rally GB

After a disappointing 8th place in Türkiye last month, Thierry Neuville devra rebondir ce week-end au Wales Rally GB pour rester dans la course au titre. Le pilote Hyundai pointe à 13 points de Sébastien Ogier (Citroën) and 30 units ofOtt Tänak (Toyota) à trois manches de la fin de saison.

If the Belgian has been on the podium three times in the Welsh event in 7 editions, he has never won on these muddy surfaces. However, a victory would be precious for him to get back on his opponents.

“Wales Rally GB is one of the wettest rallies on the calendar. We should expect a weekend full of surprises. It’s really a slippery ordeal but one that I appreciate. I have been on the podium a few times and I hope to do the same this year. The stages offer a very fast pace and we will also have to face the night, which adds more to the atmosphere. The roads are demanding with long stages, but that’s what Wales Rally GB is known for and I feel ready for the challenge.”, confided the one who finished 5th in this event last year.

Hyundai will also field Andreas Mikkelsen and Craig Breen this weekend while the Korean brand must protect its first place in the Manufacturers' championship where it has a 19-point lead over Toyota.

Wales Rally GB will feature 22 stages for a total timed distance of 309km. The shakedown will take place Thursday morning with the 4,68km Gwydir course. The event will begin in the evening with the Dayinsure Oulton Park super special. The Wales Rally GB will be followed live with our live text.
