Neuville distance Latvala at Rally Australia

Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) concluded the second stage of the Rally d’Australie avec une avance de 20 secondes sur Jari-Matti Latvala (Toyota). Après avoir pris la tête suite à l’abandon de son coéquipier Andreas Mikkelsen, the Belgian adopted a strong pace to increase his gap on the Finn by 14 seconds in just two runs. The second passage of Newry17 was canceled due to a bridge damaged by a competitor.

The gaps widened at the head of the race as Ott Tänak (M-Sport) complète le nouveau tiercé de tête à plus de 20 secondes de Jari-Matti Latvala. L’Estonein occupe la place précédemment détenue par Kris Meeke (Citroën) qui a chuté au dixième rang après avoir endommagé sa suspension arrière-droite en heurtant un pont. Le Nord-Irlandais a chuté à la 13e place tandis que son coéquipier Craig Breen is in fourth place with around 15 seconds ahead of Hayden Paddon (Hyundai).

Sébastien Ogier (M-Sport) only remains in sixth position, ahead of Stéphane Lefebvre (Citroën), Elfyn Evans (M-Sport) and Esapekka Lappi (Toyota) by more than a minute.

The final stage of Rally Australia will begin this evening at 21:38 p.m. French time.
