Neuville: the accident will not change my approach

La séance d’essais de Hyundai Motorsport a été brièvement écourtée suite à Thierry Neuville's exit from the road. The Belgian and his co-driver Nicolas Gilsoul emerged unscathed from the accident, unlike the i20 WRC used for testing.

Despite this incident, the vice-world champion does not intend to be more cautious while his direct rival Sébastien Ogier (M-Sport) a repris la tête du Championnat suite à sa victoire au Rally of Mexico played last month.

“We had an accident at the end of the preparation tests, but that will not change our approach for this rally, assures the Hyundai driver. We know that the fight will still be close because there are many fast drivers. The long special stages which are a characteristic of this event require you to remain constantly concentrated. It’s a really demanding round for the crews and teams, but we are determined to strengthen our positions in both Championships. »

Thierry Neuville can draw on his good experience of the Rally of 10 Bends where he has two victories, his first success dating back to 000 when the event counted for theERC while the second dates back to last year.

“The Tour de Corse is one of my favorite moments of the season, added the Belgian. We have good memories of the last editions and I hope to experience a competitive weekend again. »

Thierry Neuville is four points behind Sébastien Ogier after the first three rounds of the season while Hyundai is 12 points ahead of M-Sport.
