Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) took command of the Rally of Argentina at the end of the second passage of the first stage. The Belgian set a great time on the last course of the day (SS8) to return to service with a dozen seconds left. Sébastien Ogier (Citroen).
Ott Tänak (Toyota) had regained control in the afternoon, but the Estonian slipped to 3rd position in the last special after suffering from a broken transmission.
Leader at midday, Kris Meeke (Toyota) fell out of the top three 28 seconds from first place. The Northern Irishman maintains a one second lead over Andreas Mikkelsen (Hyundai) who completes the Top 5 ahead of Elfyn Evans (M-Sport) and Dani Sordo (Hyundai).
Jari-Matti Latvala (Toyota) fell to 9th place behind Teemu Suninen (M-Sport), but the Finn could regain time after having to respect the red flag displayed on the last course.
The last SS of the day was disrupted by the accident of Esapekka Lappi (Toyota) who retired with a torn suspension.

Mads Ostberg (Citroën) now completes the Top 10 in the general classification by being solid leader of the WRC 2 Pro on his C3 R5.
The second stage of the Rally Argentina will consist of 7 special stages and should begin at 12:47 p.m. with the 13,92km Tanti-Mataderos. The event can be followed live with our live text.
