Neuville takes second place, Sordo solid leader

Thanks to his only special victory, obtained during the tenth and last stage of Saturday morning, the driver Hyundai carried out the good operation at the start of the day.

Fourth at the end of the first 6 specials, Thierry Neuville currently ranks second overall. Although he certainly took advantage of the misfortunes of a very slow Teemu Suninen to move up the rankings, the Belgian was above all very quick on Sardinian soil.

Constantly on the podium during the first three stages of Saturday, Thierry Neuville took advantage of SS10. Author of the best time, the Belgian driver took second position in the general classification instead of Sébastien Ogier. Enough to delight the leaders of Hyundai since Dani Sordo remained in the lead.

Indeed, the Spaniard responded again after a masterfully managed Friday day. This Saturday, he spent all the stages in the first four positions, even taking a victory on SS8.

Second Friday, Teemu Suninen fell to 5th position more than a minute behind Dani Sordo. The Finn undoubtedly experienced a mechanical mishap since he was still more than 10 seconds from the lead. Kalle Rovanperä hit a tree during SS7 and did not finish the first part of the day.

Overall, Dani Sordo is now 31” ahead of his teammate. Sébastien Ogier is third, just three seconds behind the new runner-up. The two afternoon stages are promising. “ I give everything I have.
