Neuville survived in Türkiye, Loeb and Ogier tied

It would be daring to say that the numerous incidents which punctuated the second stage of the Rally of Türkiye 2020 are a surprise. Renowned for being extremely brittle, the Turkish course caused damage, and not the least.

The outgoing world champion, Ott Tänak (Hyundai) a renoncé dès les premiers kilomètres du jour, direction cassée. « Vous savez ce que cela signifie pour mes chances de titre », a-t-il précisé, lui qui pointait à 12 points du leader avant le départ.

On the side of Toyota, deux hommes ont subi des crevaisons lourdes de conséquences. Kalle Rovanperä et Elfyn Evans sont sortis du podium virtuel et ne devraient plus viser qu’un top 5.

The veterans of the wizard park are putting up resistance! In the lead on Friday evening, Sébastien Loeb and Daniel Elena were back in line in the morning due to an uninspired tire choice (mix between hard and medium).

Fourth at the lunch break, the nine-time world champion duo recovered in the afternoon. " It's not so bad ", commented the Alsatian, and for good reason: he finished the stage tied with his namesake, Sébastien Ogier (Toyota)!

The latter suffered various problems on his Yaris such as hydraulics and the gearbox. In these conditions, the Gapençais limits the damage. Finally, the only survivor was Thierry Neuville (Hyundai), author of four scratch times and free from the slightest problempine mechanical ! The Belgian rides comfortably in 1st place.

In WRC2, Pontus Tidemand (Skoda) took the measure ofAdrien fourmaux (Ford), after a mechanical problem for the Frenchman (+2’35’’).

The final stage of Rally Turkey will begin at 6:30 a.m. on Sunday.
