Neuville resists Latvala's return

Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) retains the head of Rally from Sardinia ahead of Jari-Matti Latvala (Volkswagen) even if his lead melted in the first pass of the second stage. The Finn reduced his delay from 11 to three seconds, notably gaining almost seven seconds in the 44,26 km Monte Lerno, the longest special of the event.

The fight for third place is also intense. Sébastien Ogier (Volkswagen) remains on the provisional podium, but the Championship leader who once again opens the road only has three tenths ahead of Mads Ostberg (Ford) who has taken the advantage over Andreas Mikkelsen (Volkswagen) to less than three seconds.

Dani Sordo (Hyundai) is still in sixth position and is now half a minute out of the top five. Ott Tänak (Ford) took seventh place at the expense of Henning Solberg (Ford).

Kevin Abbring (Hyundai) won his first special in WRC in SS10, but the Dutchman lost another seven minutes following a puncture in SS12.

The second passage of the second stage of the Sardinia Rally will be contested from 16:01 p.m. and will be followed live with our live text.
