The Belgian was able to maintain a little more than 6 seconds ahead of the Estonian, author of two scratches in the morning compared to one for the leader of the event.
Sébastien Ogier (Citroën) did his best to keep pace until he damaged his power steering on SS11. The six-time champion WRC subsequently lost a lot of time and fell beyond the Top 5 now completed by Andreas Mikkelsen (Hyundai), Kris Meeke (Toyota) and Dani Sordo (Hyundai).
