Sébastien Ogier (Ford) retired in SS4 Rally from Finland following a trip off the road where he ended up in the trees. His Fiesta WRC who occupied 6th place in the ranking suffers from a broken suspension. Hayden Paddon (Hyundai) also retired following damage to the right rear while he was in 3rd place.

Ott Tänak (Ford), leader of the Rally Finland before SS4, lost more than a minute following a right-rear puncture following a trip off the road.
Esapekka Lappi (Toyota) signed the scratch with a time of 10'06''3 achieved at the end of 21,31km where he was 1''3 ahead of his teammate Jari-Matti Latvala. Mads Ostberg (Ford) followed more than 5 seconds ahead of Teemu Suninen (Ford) and Juho Hänninen (Toyota). Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) set the 9th fastest time, around ten seconds from the benchmark.
Jari-Matti Latvala takes the lead in Rally Finland with a 5s lead over Esapekka Lappi. Craig Breen completes the new provisional podium 8s behind the first Finn, ahead of Teemu Suninen and Mads Ostberg. Juho Hänninen is in 6th place, a dozen seconds from the head of the race, just ahead of Kris Meeke (Citroën) and Elfyn Evans (Ford). Thierry Neuville is in 9th place with a good lead over his teammate Dani Sordo. Ott Tänak is more than a minute late.
