Ogier: “I have nothing more to prove”

As he aims for a sixth consecutive title in WRC, Sébastien Ogier still thinking about his future in competition. While the pilot M-Sport has been evolving for a decade at a global level in rally, he has been expressing for some time his desire to retire, not being interested in Sébastien's record Loeb which has nine coronations.

However, a position became available at Citroën with the dismissal of Kris Meeke, replaced at short notice by Mads Ostberg for the current season.

“I am not opposed to any discussion. It costs nothing to talk. I met Pierre Budar (the new director of Citroën Racing) recently and it was quite easy to chat with him”, confided Sébastien Ogier to AUTOhebdo who could win with a third different brand if he took up the colors of the Reds.

Sébastien Ogier could nevertheless decide to hang up his helmet and devote more time to his family.

“During reconnaissance of a rally, a very important moment, but also very boring, I have the feeling more and more frequently that I don't want to be there... But there are also still days when I bursts from behind the wheel and I remember how lucky I am to be where I am. I must also not forget that, when this stops, I must be sure that I will have other challenges to take on. I, who am a competitor at heart, would not be happy if there were none, in motorsport or elsewhere…”
