Young retiree, that's it Sébastien Ogier already back on the roads of the World Rally Championship. Freshly crowned for the 8th time in his career, the Gapençais has decided to distance himself from the WRC without definitively cutting ties since he will compete in three rounds this season, starting with Monte-Carlo (January 20-24) this weekend.

« I am at the start of a new stage in my career, does he recognize. »

So how does he feel heading into the first race of the year, and moreover the first of the hybrid era in the WRC? “ I'm still a competitor and I still want to win, starts Sébastien Ogier. I know the team has worked a lot to be ready with this new generation of cars and progress has been made during each test session. I had the chance to test the GR Yaris Rally1 for three days in December and another day last week. It’s a big change and an exciting challenge to take on and adapt to. But I think Monte-Carlo will be a big challenge for everyone. There is more uncertainty than ever before rally. »

In Monte-Carlo, Sébastien Ogier will be at the wheel of one of the 4 GR Yaris Rally1 entered by Toyota Gazoo Racing. In addition to discovering the car in the race, the eight-time world champion will discover Benjamin Veillas, his new co-driver since the retirement of his faithful sidekick Julien Ingrassia.
