Ogier: “The fight for the crown will accelerate”
Income eight points behind the leader Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) thanks to his inspired success at Wales Rally GB, Sébastien Ogier (M-Sport Ford) s’est parfaitement relancé dans la course au titre. Accompagné de Julien Ingrassia, the Frenchman thus approaches the Rally of Spain (October 25-28) with morale pumped up.
“With two rounds to go, the fight for the crown will accelerate, indicates the title holder. We will have to produce another big result if we wish to defend our coronation. »
Sébastien Ogier does not forget to specify the original nature of the Rally of Spain. “The mixed surface (first stage on dirt, the other two on asphalt) makes it a unique event on the calendar and you have to adapt quickly to each change in grip. »
Indeed, Friday will be played on stony paths. An innovation however: the long special linking La Fatarella to Vilalba, with a length of 38,85 km, will include both road and dirt portions!
Malcolm Wilson, Team Principal of M-Sport Ford, also concedes that “It’s been a long time since the battle for the title was this intense”. That’s good, the full live stream of this rally will be available on the site CARhebdo.fr !
