Ogier: “The hardest WRC season of my career”

The five-time world champion was very proud to have won this title within a private team against three manufacturers, all while he still remains the Rally of Australia to be played on the weekend of November 19. The Frenchman obtained his first four crowns with Volkswagen.

“I can say without a doubt that this has been the season WRC the hardest of my career. It’s a good thing for the discipline, confided Sébastien Ogier at a press conference. Thierry said earlier that it was good to see so many different winners and that each team won at least two events. These new WRCs are also sensational to drive. I had to fight hard, perhaps more than in the past. »

Sébastien Ogier could not hide his emotion at the finish line of Wales Rally GB, responding to interviews with tears in his eyes.

“You can’t control emotions. They were the best of my career. Only the birth of my son was even stronger, explained Sébastien Ogier. We won this challenge taken at the beginning of the year. Malcolm (Wilson, the owner of M-Sport) and his team have never experienced this before but they all deserve it with what they managed to do with a smaller budget than the manufacturers. »
