Ogier takes the lead in Rally Turkey, Tänak withdraws

The Frenchman, associated with Julien Ingrassia, was the most impressive on the rough tracks of Turkey. The Gapençais set the best scratch time twice this morning, notably on one of the longest special stages of the weekend (31,79 km).

Thierry Neuville and Nicolas Gilsoul (Hyundai) sont les seuls à suivre l’allure.

In the lead the evening before, the veterans Sébastien Loeb and Daniel Elena (Hyundai) returned to the ranks, the fault of a poor choice of tires (mix between medium and hard). However, the nine-time world champion pair hold their place in the top 5.

The morning loop claimed one victim, and not the least. The outgoing world champion Ott Tänak (Hyundai) stopped on SS3 due to faulty steering on its i20. “The car is still in the middle of the forest,” said the recent winner of the Rally from Estonia, who is losing big in the fight for the crown.

“You know what this means for my title chances,” he replied in the Marmaris service park. As a reminder, Ott Tänak was 3rd in the Drivers' championship, 13 points behind the leader Sébastien Ogier.

Cocorico in the WRC2 category, led by the French Adrien fourmaux (Ford), sailed by the Belgian Renaud Jamoul. So, the border agreement is still there! However, the fastest competitor with an R5 is Kajetan Kajetanowicz (Skoda).
