Ogier takes off against Mikkelsen

Sébastien Ogier could return to victory at Rally from Germany for the first time from Sweden. The Volkswagen driver took advantage of a poor tire choice by his teammate Andreas Mikkelsen who went on hard tires to increase his lead by 13 seconds on the second pass of Panzerplatte.

On the evening of the second stage, the Championship leader has a lead of more than half a minute over his pursuers who are fighting for the places of honor.

Andreas Mikkelsen remains second but finds himself under direct threat from Dani Sordo and Thierry Neuville. The two pilots Hyundai, separated by four tenths to the advantage of the Spaniard, are less than four seconds behind the Polo R WRC from Scandinavia.

Hayden Paddon (Hyundai) completes the top five after opening up a significant gap on his direct pursuer Mads Ostberg (Ford) who lost half a minute in Panzerplatte for no specific reason. The New Zealander and the Norwegian took advantage of the abandonment ofOtt Tänak (Ford) victim of an alternator failure.

Esapekka Lappi (Skoda) remains at the top of WRC 2 with more than a minute ahead of Jan Kopecky (Skoda) and Armin Kremer (Skoda). Pierre-Louis Loubet (DS 3 R5) is in fifth position in the category behind Ghislain de Mevius (Skoda).
