Ogier returns to victory

Sébastien Ogier (Volkswagen) was able to manage its lead in Rally of Germany to secure his third victory of the season, his first since Sweden last February, at the end of an event where the Championship leader was no longer handicapped by his position on the road as is the case on dirt rallies.

The last stage was animated by the places of honor disputed between the drivers Hyundai Dani Sordo and Thierry Neuville as well as Andreas Mikkelsen (Volkswagen). The Spaniard finally snatched second place for a tenth against his Belgian teammate who nevertheless won the Power Stage ahead of Jari-Matti Latvala (Volkswagen) and Sébastien Ogier.

Andreas Mikkelsen failed less than seven seconds from the podium. The Norwegian saw his chances disappear when he encountered brake problems in the Power Stage. Hayden Paddon (Hyundai) took fifth place almost a minute ahead of Mads Ostberg (Ford).

Esapekka Lappi (Skoda Fabia R5) takes victory in WRC 2 with more than a minute ahead of Jan Kopecky (Skoda). Armin Kremer (Skoda) completes the podium ahead of Belgian Ghislain de Mevius (Skoda) and Frenchman Pierre-Louis Loubet (DS3 R5).

Simone Tempestini scored his third JWRC success of the year by winning with a lead of 39 seconds over Martin Koci. Terry Folb completes the podium with 52 seconds ahead of his compatriot Romain Martel.
