Ogier victim of turbo failure

While he was in fourth place in the Rally from Poland, Sébastien Ogier had to retire on SS16 of Rally Poland last weekend. The Frenchman suffered a turbo failure which prevented him from achieving a good result after his second place in Greece.

« He managed to overtake the Solberg brothers before experiencing a turbo problem which prevented him from finishing the rally and taking the third place he deserved. », declared Benoit Nogier, director of the Citroën Junior team. “ It was an excellent performance from him and a good confirmation of his pace after Greece. »

By confirming the turbo failure, Nogier also puts an end to speculation about a strategy by the double chevron brand to favor its leader Sébastien Loeb. The latter thus took advantage of the abandonment of his compatriot as well as the ?voluntary slowdown? of the two other drivers of the Citroën Junior team, Evgeny Novikov and Conrad Rautenbach, to grab seventh place overall.
