Oliver Solberg joins the VW Team Bauhaus

If the Volkswagen Dealer Team Bauhaus will no longer be present in STCC, Tommy Kristoffersson's team will be focused on the rally enjoying the new Volkswagen Polo GTI R5. Johan Kristoffersson, the boss's son, double reigning World RX champion, will be entered in the Swedish Championship in addition to his WTCR program with Sébastien Loeb Racing.

The Volkswagen Dealer Team Bauhaus will also place its trust in Ole Christian Veiby engaged in WRC 2 and to Oliver Solberg, the son of Petter Solberg who worked with the Kristoffersson family in World RX until the program was discontinued last year. The young Norwegian is playing in the Latvian Championship while waiting to reach the age of majority. Its beginnings were noticed sincehe won in the first event of Rally Aluksne last weekend.

“This partnership is very important for my activities. It's always essential for a driver and it's fantastic to see Solberg and Kristoffersson continuing to work together even if it's now in a different form.", comments the son of the three-time world champion.

“I will continue to race my own car with OSM (Oliver Solberg Motorsport). This is the team that prepares the Polo GTI R5 for me that I drive. The Volkswagen Dealer Team Bauhaus will give me great support in the budget needed to participate in the Latvian events. I won't be able to ride in Sweden this year because I'm still too young, but it's something we'll consider next year. It was already magnificent to win my very first event in a 4-wheel drive car. The only problem was that I didn't want to leave the Polo. I love driving it so much! »

Oliver Solberg will get back behind the wheel of his Volkswagen Polo GTI R5 at the Rallijs Sarma on February 9.
