Ostberg: Ready to do anything for a complete program with a manufacturer

A few days ago, Mads ostberg returned to the top step of the podium by winning the Rally Finnskog on its snowy grounds in Norway, at the wheel of his Ford Fiesta WRC of Adapta Motorsport.

A full-scale preparation before discovering last week the Citroën C3 that he will drive this weekend at Rally from Sweden.

An important event for the former resident of the firm in the rafters between 2014 and 2015, who is counting on the second round of the 2018 World Championship to remember the good memories of the WRC peloton. Ostberg played his last full season in 2016 in a Ford Fiesta M-Sport, before a partial program in 2017.

“The 2016 season at M-Sport was problematic, the Norwegian confesses to us in a long interview. It was a bad year in my career. At the end of the championship, I felt the need to evolve in a private structure.

I wanted to take a step back to find myself, but also to choose the people I wanted to work with, as well as the way of working with them. » Ostberg, winner in 2012 in Portugal, also specifies that he has not abandoned the idea of a complete program in the future.

“I really enjoyed the 2017 season, but at the same time, it increased my motivation tenfold to return to a full-time seat in the WRC. I am ready to do everything to have a complete program with a manufacturer again. »
