Ott Tänak: “It will be all or nothing”

Author of two second places in Sweden and Mexico before the forced break in the face of the coronavirus pandemic, the Estonian got off to a good start in Estonia with a victory at home before a stoppage in Turkey.

Now at 28 points with the only Monza final remaining, it would take a near miracle for Tänak to retain his crown, namely an improved victory, and for all his rivals to achieve a poor performance.

“From a team point of view, we have to do everything to defend the constructors' title, recalls Tänak. It's still a little open regarding the drivers' championship. As this is the last rally, it will be all or nothing. »

For the Estonian and his rivals, the Estonian and his rivals will have to face a completely atypical route, with special stages designed for some on the Monza Autodrome. But if on the drivers' side, the matter seems complicated with a view to the title, Hyundai still has its destiny in its hands.

“We have three crews who have all shown this year that they can win, but even that doesn't guarantee results, confesses Andrea Adamo, Team Principal of Hyundai Motorsport. We will have to work hard for this and fight until the Power Stage. It's entirely in our hands. »
