Ott Tänak controls debates in Germany

The first pass in the two special stages on the program for the last stage of the Rally of Germany did not upset the order in the top three. Ott Tänak (Ford) remains in control of the race, now 18″ ahead of Andreas Mikkelsen (Citroën) who admits he is trying to keep the pressure on the leader.

Sébastien Ogier (Ford) a clairement choisi sa stratégie. Le pilote M-Sport n’a pas forcé le rythme sur ces deux ES, et voit son retard passer à 19″3 sur Mikkelsen avant la boucle finale. Le Français indiquait dans le premier tour dans St Wendeler Land, qui servira de Power Stage dès 12h18, avoir effectué une simple vérification de ses notes.

Hänninen takes advantage of Evans

La situation a toutefois évolué derrière le trio maître de ce Rallye d’Allemagne, puisque Juho Hänninen (Toyota) a repris l’avantage sur Elfyn Evans (Ford) pour la quatrième place. Débarrassé de ses soucis d’amortisseur de la veille, le Finlandais s’est montré le plus rapide dans l’ES18 et possède 13″1 de marge sur Evans.

The top 10 remains completed by Craig Breen (Citroën), Jari-Matti Latvala (Toyota), Hayden Paddon (Hyundai), Armin Kremer (Ford), qui a dépassé Eric Camilli (Ford Fiesta R5) ce matin. Le Français demeure le leader en catégorie WRC-2, with 58″7 ahead of Kopecky.

Pontus Tidemand (Skoda Fabia R5) follows in third position in WRC-2 ahead of Quentin Gilbert (Skoda Fabia R5) and Pierre-Louis Loubet (Ford Fiesta R5) who took advantage of the deviation from Teemu Suninen (Ford Fiesta R5) in SS19 to gain a position.

The second pass in the Sunday loop will begin at 10:28 a.m.
