Ott Tänak will spend another night in Lapland in the shoes of the leader of the Arctic Rally. Already winner of the two special stages on Friday, the driver Hyundai landed three more this Saturday. Enough to consolidate his first place overall.
In addition, the 2019 world champion performed well during the stages where he did not win, with two second places and a sixth at the end of which he only lost six short seconds.
An incredible responder who stunned the competition and in particular Kalle Rovanperä (Toyota), yet very fast on the ice of the Arctic Circle.
Thanks to these three new victories of the day and his great solidity, Ott Tänak built up a good lead before attacking the final day, made up of two special stages, including the Power Stage.
Behind, the battle for second place promises. Runner-up to Tänak, Rovanperä is only 1” ahead of Thierry Neuville (Hyundai).
Already distanced, Sébastien Ogier (Toyota) can say goodbye to his Top 5 hopes. His crash during the last special cost him more than 19 minutes. The outgoing champion now finds himself 11th more than 20 minutes behind.
Two final stages are on the menu for the final day of the Arctic Rally. The first departure is scheduled for 9:08 a.m., still in live-text on AUTOhebdo.
