World Champion of WRC in 2019 and double winner of the last two editions of the rally from Finland, Ott Tänak will have to fight against the favorites Toyota during this 70th edition. The Estonian, fifth in the championship and far behind the leader Sébastien Ogier, will be keen to win for the third time in a row in Jyväskylä, for the last gravel rally of the season. “Let’s see if we can get a third victory at Rally Finland. We know our competitors and it will be difficult, but we have worked very hard over the last two years, so now is our chance to show that we can fight in fast rallies.”

This tenth round of the season, which includes 19 special stages, will be one of the last in this environment for current WRC cars. “As the last fully gravel rally with this generation of WRC cars – in my opinion they are the best ever – I will really enjoy this event. The roads are both fun and challenging at the same time, and since it's so fast with small gaps, we should have some great competition ».

Despite his experience, the Estonian expects a difficult stage against the Toyota drivers. Moved by two months compared to the usual dates, this rally has some changes, including part of the route that the crews will discover this weekend. “The characteristics of this rally are very different. There's a lot of the route we haven't seen before, so we'll have to put a lot of effort into our reconnaissance to make sure our pace notes are completely accurate. The weather might change a bit too, so that will keep us on our toes.”
