Ott Tänak overcomes tricky conditions in Germany

The duel between Ott Tänak and Andreas Mikkelsen, in progress since SS4 of Rally d’Allemagne, a tourné à l’avantage du premier cité dans l’après-midi. The Estonian concluded the last sector of the day by preceding his rival by 1″2 and ahead of the Citroën driver by 5″7 at the end of this stage. Behind this duo, Sébastien Ogier (Ford) gave up his third place in the final time trial of the day, after a spin and a net loss of more than 20″. Lappi joins the dropout list

Elfyn Evans (Ford) suit le leader de M-Sport au classement de l’épreuve et demeure le dernier pilote sous la minute, à 52″1. Le Britannique devance la Toyota Yaris de Juho Hänninen, qui a passé la Citroën C3 de Craig Breen in SS8. Jari-Matti Latvala, winner in SS8 and who found his engine in good shape after his problems in SS5, is in eighth position at 1'54″7, ahead of Hayden Paddon (Hyundai).

The Toyota clan, however, lost Esapekka Lappi, victim of a collision in SS7 and forced to retire for the day. A mishap which benefits Jan Kopecky (Skoda Fabia R5) who enters the top 10 and still dominates the category WRC-2 ahead of Pontus Tidemand (Skoda Fabia R5) and Eric Camilli (Ford Fiesta R5). In Junior WRC, Nicolas Ciamin dominates the event.
