Petter Solberg or the hat trick

While the starting order of the special stages is more and more controversial since Jordan, Petter Solberg suggests the establishment of a draw to resolve this controversy which is currently shaking the WRC. “For me, the way to correct this is to draw lots for our starting positions, He explains. We have 15 numbers in a hat and the first 15 drivers take turns drawing. That would be the fairest way, right? Sometimes you will be unlucky, but it will not be systematic. »

A random starting order would also put an end to the drivers' strategies. As we saw in Jordan, many drivers voluntarily slowed down at the end of the second day to ensure a better position the next day. " It's boring, deplores the Norwegian. This is not why we are in rally. I want to drive hard from the start, I don't want to think about slowing down. It?s a competition, we are supposed to drive as fast as we can. »

There have been rumors of a change to the regulations ahead of Rally Sardinia, but it remains unlikely that the change will happen in such a short space of time.
