Quentin Giordano in WRC-2 with Loeb Racing

WTCC, Junior WRC with Terry Folb, the Sébastien Loeb Racing is preparing for a busy 2016 on the world stage. A calendar which will also see the Alsatian team begin a WRC-2 program with the recruitment of Quentin Giordano from Lorraine.

The former Citroën Racing Trophy driver took part in WRC-2 in 2015 with a Citroën DS3 R5, and will move to a Peugeot 208 T16 R5 in 2016, on a program including Sardinia (June 9-12), Poland (July 1-3), Finland (July 28-31), Germany (August 18-21), the Tour de Corsica (September 29-October 2) and Great Britain (October 27-30).

“We know Quentin since he raced with the team in the French Supertouring Championship last year and I had the opportunity to accompany him on tests, explains Sébastien Loeb.

The opportunity presented itself to set up this multiple program and I am happy to see the project come to fruition. Like Terry, Quentin has the advantage of already having experience in his category. He showed some of his potential last season and more recently at Monte-Carlo. We must allow him to take a step forward and achieve great performances. It has the right amount of speed and the Peugeot 208 T16 is a competitive car. »

“I experienced great things with PH Sport, which allowed me to progress and without whom I would not be at this level today, but I have the feeling that the Sébastien Loeb Racing program can allow me to take a step forward. » comments Giordano for his part.

The WRC-2 will not be the only program on the 29-year-old driver's menu in 2016. The Nancy native will take part in five events of his Alsace-Lorraine regional committee, in order to to qualify for the final of the French Rally Cup, contested from October 14 to 16 on the Rally of Lunéville.
