Quesnel: “Proud” to welcome Kimi

Kimi Räikkönen, after three seasons with Ferrari, will join? the Reds, nickname given to the Citroën team. Having driven for two of the biggest teams in F1, the Finn joined in WRC the chevron brand, holder of multiple world titles thanks to Citroën's experience in Rally, and to the undivided domination of Sébastien Loeb.

With the Frenchman and the Finn, Citroën will therefore have two FIA world champion drivers in its ranks in 2010. A great showing made possible by the involvement of Red Bull within the teams of the chevron brand, which will now support the Citroën Total World Rally Team, with Sébastien Loeb / Dani Sordo and Dani Sordo / Marc Marti, and a second team composed of Sébastien Ogier / Julien Ingrassia and Kimi Räikkönen / Kaj Lindström.

« The involvement of Red Bull and the energy they deploy are in keeping with the thirst for victories that drives Citroën, admits Olivier Quesnel, director of Citroën Racing. In 2010, we will count on Sébastien and Dani to retain our world titles. We will also continue our adventure with Sébastien Ogier who showed exceptional potential in 2009. »

Beyond the renewed crews for 2010, Citroën therefore sees the arrival of Kimi Räikkönen, Formula 1 world champion. It is with great joy that we welcome Kimi Räikkönen and we are very proud that he has chosen Citroën. In addition to the commitment of these four crews, we hope to be able to confirm other programs in the coming weeks. »
