Räikkönen had fun

Fifteenth before leaving the track, during SS19, the last special stage contested on Saturday, Kimi Räikkönen produced a very good performance during the Rally from Finland. On his home turf, the driver of the Abarth Grande Punto S2000 impressed observers with his ease in moving from the circuit to the track. But, after 19 special stages, the Finn finished his race in the ditch, after a poorly negotiated turn. “ I knew this place but I approached it too broadly », confides the pilot. “ I thought I should get wide but unfortunately there were many stones and when I hit them the car went out »

Despite everything, Kimi Räikkönen is already satisfied to have covered so much distance without his Abarth letting him down. “II thought we wouldn't finish the rally because we would have too many problems with the engine! » And, despite this premature end, the Finn prefers to retain the satisfaction experienced previously. “We had fun and no one was hurt. It happens, it’s part of the rally. »

For his part, Räikkönen's co-pilot, Kaj Lindstrom, recognizes that the pilot of Formula 1 was able to convince of his abilities to race in rally. “ He proved he was fast, something no one could be sure of at first. »
