Sébastien Loeb, after the first two special stages of the last day of the Rally from Great Britain, lost twelve seconds to Mikko Hirvonen. He only has a lead of eighteen seconds over the Finn with forty kilometers remaining.
In SS13, the Ford driver set the fastest time, gaining only eight tenths from Sébastien Loeb ready to defend his comfortable lead. But, during the following special, the Frenchman got into difficulty by losing more than eleven seconds in twenty-two kilometers.
« It was very muddy, recognized the Citroën driver at the end of SS14. I took it a little easy but there is no problem. Maybe we lost too much but we'll see in the next (special). »
There are now two stages left for the two men to decide between themselves. The Frenchman still has a good lead but he will no longer have to concede as many seconds as during SS14 if he wants to capture a sixth consecutive world crown.
